Although the threat posed by lethal viruses, germs, and parasites may seem remote when living in a wealthy nation like India, these contagious microbes are constantly present among us.
Doctors and medical experts have identified the following things you must do to avoid getting a viral infection.
Wash your hands regularly: This is the most important thing you can do to avoid catching a virus. It is also important to wash your hands before eating and after visiting the toilet.
Avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth: These are all areas that viruses can enter the body through, so it is best not to put yourself at risk by touching them unnecessarily.
Cover your mouth when you cough or sneeze: This will stop germs from spreading around and help limit the number of people who can catch it from you.
Avoid close contact with sick people: If someone in close contact with you falls ill then try to avoid them as much as possible, and if they insist on coming into contact with you, then make sure they wash their hands first so that they don't pass anything on to you again!
If you contract an infection, you should reach a local GP for relief instead of trying over-the-counter medicines. Infections can take a while, so plenty of rest and a healthy diet are recommended.
